Overview
Cords Club is a fast-growing brand that began with Lexi Petersen’s search for stylish, hypoallergenic earrings - and a simple mission: to create beautiful, comfortable pieces that anyone could wear all day, every day. What started as a personal solution to Lexi’s sensitive ears quickly grew into a brand known for its design-forward, irritation-free jewelry, with a signature focus on flat back stud earrings.
We spoke with the Cords Club creative marketing team about their journey scaling content production - the chaos that came from piecing together generic tools, and the scaling capabilities they found with Yoho.
TL&DR: The Results
Since adopting Yoho, the Cords Club team has:
- Centralized its entire marketing operation into one shared calendar
- Streamlined content production across in-house, freelance, and affiliate teams
- Built a fully searchable creative library organized by product, contributor, and campaign
- Profitably grown media spend by 200%
- Increased creative output by over 300%
- Enabled media buyers, content leads, and contributors to work more independently and efficiently
The Challenges
Cords Club carved out a clear niche with its irritation-free, hypoallergenic flat back studs - but it didn’t take long for a wave of copycat brands to follow, flooding the market with cheap, imitation jewelry that claimed to have high standards but left consumers with cheap products and trust issues. Now was a time when Cords Club needed to focus harder than ever on creative, not only to grow, but to set itself apart as the brand held to its high standards of products.
At the same time, the DTC paid media landscape was evolving. What was once a strategy driven by controls within the ads accounts was morphing into a strategy heavily reliant on creative volume and diversity.
“We began to understand that to grow and stand out among a crowd of imitations, we needed to focus intensely on creatives. Not only the volume but the diversity as well.”
That shift placed enormous pressure on the Cords Club team. They took a hard look at their current content production flow and found that in order to properly scale creatives they needed to solve some challenges.
More specifically, there were 3 main challenges that the team was looking to solve:
- Managing the Marketing Calendar
- Scaling Content Production
- Storing, Organizing, and Launching Creatives
No 1 - Managing the Marketing Calendar
Before implementing Yoho, Cords Club faced the impossible task of managing a fast-moving marketing engine without a unified calendar. The brand had grown quickly, and with that came complexity: product launches, social campaigns, collaborations, site updates, and blog posts - all moving simultaneously.
At one point, there were four separate calendars being used across teams and agencies, each tracking different pieces of the puzzle. Content leads relied on Slack threads or last-minute pings to find out what was coming next. Agencies had their own disconnected planning tools. And while the team tried to bring order by rolling out Monday.com company-wide, it came at a high cost per seat and lacked the specific structure needed for e-commerce content planning.
The result was misalignment, missed opportunities, and a lot of duplicate work.
No 2 - Scaling Content Production
As Cords Club scaled its creative efforts, managing content production became increasingly fragmented. The team worked with a mix of freelancers, in-house creators, and affiliates, but their process depended on a patchwork of generic tools.
As the volume of briefs being written increased drastically, the briefs, written in Google Docs, lacked a structure to ensure consistency. Due dates were fuzzy and clarifications relied on disjointed Slack messages. Assignments and deliverables were tracked via Google Sheets with hyper links to glue it all together.
The result? Growing creative output, but also a lot of maintenance on this messy system.
No 3 - Storing, Organizing, and Launching Creatives
Google Drive worked for about a month. But as creative volume scaled, it quickly became a major bottleneck. Broken links, missing permissions, and the constant “Where is that creative again?” became a daily headache.
With a large and ever-expanding SKU catalog, Cords Club had no way to search by product, creator, or campaign. Google Drive only allowed for a single structure, and once it was set, reorganizing became a nightmare. There was no ability to filter by event, query content by creator, or audit what assets were actually live and usable.
One particularly painful moment came in the lead-up to a major marketing event. The team had produced hundreds of creatives, categorized them neatly in a Google Sheet, and shared the list with their media buying team members. But when it came time to launch, every link was broken. The team scrambled across Drive folders, Slack threads, and old emails, and still didn’t recover them all.
"Creative Chaos" sounding a little too close to home?

No 1 - Managing the Marketing Calendar
The turning point came when the Cords Club marketing & operations team gathered, pulled up Yoho, and walked week by week through the marketing calendar. Launches, campaigns, site updates, photoshoots, promotions - everything known was added, organized, and made visible in one place.
From there, every stakeholder was invited into Yoho (agencies, freelancers, content creators, etc.). Each person was granted customized permissions, so they only saw what they needed - no more, no less. For every event, Yoho became a tailored workspace: copy suggestions for the email team, a mood board for design, written context for web updates, and event briefs for content creators - all embedded directly into the calendar.
That day, Cords Club officially declared Yoho their “one source of truth” for all marketing operations. Since then, the team hasn’t looked back - because now, everyone is aligned before anything goes live.
“Now every event has structure. There’s a written description, there’s copy direction, there’s a mood board. Everyone knows where to look and what’s expected — it’s all there in Yoho."
No 2 - Scaling Content Production
With Yoho in place, Cords Club completely reimagined its content production workflow. Every contributor, from in-house to freelancers, video editors to graphic designers, now has a login.
The process starts with ideas. Whether it’s a funny TikTok spotted while scrolling, an ad from another brand, or an original concept, anyone on the team can log it into Yoho’s Idea Hub. From there, ideas are reviewed, converted into structured assignments, and tagged with clear briefs, due dates, and even the ideal customer profile (ICP) to keep in mind during production.
Each assignment supports multiple deliverables, enabling the team to collect not just polished videos but also B-roll, raw clips, alt hooks, and more. Contributors upload their work directly into the system, receive feedback in context, and can easily revise and re-upload without needing to chase down emails or Slack threads.
“Now everyone knows exactly what’s expected, where to upload, and how to get feedback. It’s all connected, and it’s so much easier to keep projects moving.”
No 3 - Storing, Organizing, and Launching Creatives
With Yoho, Cords Club finally got the creative library they always needed. A dynamic, flexible, and searchable digital asset management system designed specifically for e-commerce brands producing high volumes of content.
All new content flows directly into Yoho’s built-in digital asset management system. Assets are automatically categorized based on assignment details - including event, contributor, format, and tags - and can be adjusted on the fly. No more broken links or lost files.
Need to find all video hooks from a Black Friday campaign? Every image produced by a specific freelancer? UGC tagged for a new product? With Yoho, those filters are built-in, and they actually work.
Collecting content from large groups (like at in-person events) became seamless, and launching creatives became even easier. Yoho introduced structured statuses like “Approved for Ads” or “Approved for Social Posts,” giving media buyers the green light to independently launch new content, while social managers could plan posts confidently, and brand leads could block anything that didn’t meet the creative standard.
What used to be a full-time job for a team member - organizing and activating content - now happens automatically in the background, with the team free to focus on growth.
“We’re really happy. Yoho helped us scale creative production without losing our brand identity. Ad spend has grown 200% profitably, fueled by a 300% increase in strong creatives - all while finally bringing sanity to our marketing calendar.”
