If you’ve ever tried to scale creative production as an ecom brand, you know the pain. Leadership not only calls for more and more creatives but they also mandate a high diversity of the assets. Oh and of course, make sure it’s all “on brand” content.

Chaos ensues. Freelancers, team members, content creators, agencies - all are recruited to contribute. Then follows a scattering of Google Doc briefs written in organized neatly with an excel doc to track production (spoiler: that excel tracker won’t be sufficient). Creatives fly in from email, slack, and random google drive links. All creatives end up in an all-too-basic set of Google Drive folders with creative assets labeled “final_final_v3”. 

It’s a mess. And not the kind of creative mess that fuels brilliance: more like the kind that burns people out. At the same time, the business is growing and demand for more creatives continues to grow. 

You buckle up, regroup, and start a production cycle again. 

It’s the opposite of sustainable. It’s exhausting.

That’s why we built Yoho, a creative operating system built for fast-growing ecommerce brands. And today, we’re finally sharing it with you.

Why We Built Yoho

Let’s rewind a bit.

We’re a team that grew an ecommerce brand from a few thousand dollars in monthly revenue to millions. As we scaled, Meta became our best friend, and sometimes our biggest headache. We needed a steady stream of fresh, high-performing content. That meant our creative team had to work faster, smarter, and more collaboratively.

But here’s the thing: no tool really got how ecommerce brands operate. We tried project management tools, asset libraries, spreadsheets, and countless other platforms.

Everything felt like a patchwork solution. Nothing fits together. Our creative process was stitched across six tools, three workflows, and too many breaking points.

We weren’t just inefficient, we were tired. Our team was running in circles, and we couldn’t afford to slow down. That was the moment we realized we needed to build something for ourselves.

What Yoho Is

Behind the Scenes

This wasn’t a weekend side project. Realizing the magnitude of chaos, and after attempting to patch together existing tools to serve, Ben rolled up his sleeves. Armed with caffeine and a software background he went to work. After solving an initial set of problems he hired another developer. Then another. And another.

Soon, we had a small but mighty team building Yoho while still running the ecom brand. We recruited brilliant technical leadership to ensure we’re building solutions that will last. We built, pressure-tested in production with immediate first users, and continued to iterate.

Today, Yoho is powered by a team of six talented developers and has been led from technical leadership from Microsoft, Findd, and Rocket Mortgage. We’re proud of what we’ve built, and we’re just getting started.

What’s Next

We’re continuing to build deeper into every stage of the content lifecycle. We’re taking feedback from our early users and turning it into features that make your creative process faster, easier, and more collaborative.

And yes, we’re bringing in AI where it actually helps. Smart features that reduce busywork and free up your team’s brain space for the fun stuff.
